"This is a great cool mist humidifier. I haven't tried the warm mist feature yet. It's quiet and the silver in the tank seems to deter bacteria growth. Two annoying things are a tiny screw in the cap that rusts and two big stickers on the front that leave residue behind when they are removed. And, yes, the blue light is bright enough to be seen from the Space Shuttle but applying layers of small pieces of white tape will allow you to customize the brightness to your liking."

"I have had several humidifers and this one is definitely the best one I've used yet. It replaced a Hamilton Beach one that required frequent filter replacement, only did cold mist, and built up a lot of gunk inside. This is a relatively hassle free piece of equipment. I've alternated between warm and cold mist and the output of steam is good. Although it's really efficient, I do wish the water tank was a bit bigger. I ran the thing for 2 weeks before having to take it apart and clean it, and it does build up residue (scales, staining) inside. The unit comes with a little brush to help clean the filter. Apart from the routine maintenance, which every air purifier seems to need, this is a painless unit to own. But yes, that blue front light is bright! (And I do wish it could monitor humidity levels.)"

"Just received the Germinator humidifier yesterday. We used it last night for the first time and I can't tell you how much better I feel this morning...and that was with only a moderate humidity setting and using cool mist. Winters here in the Upper Midwest can be brutal, so I have a feeling that the warm mist settings will get used quite a bit.
It is well constructed, and it looks good. So many humidifiers out there are just cheap plastic. It really does run virtually silent. Can't even hear it when it's running.
The only thing that kept me from giving this the absolute best rating possible are the BLUE LIGHTS on the front of the unit when running. They are VERY bright...so bright that they pretty much act as a night-light. We use this in our bedroom, so it's a little hard to get to sleep with the light. I need to figure out someway to cover the lights. At this time I'm considering getting a small piece of heavy felt to act as a blackout curtain. All in all that's the only bad thing I can say about this product, and that's just me. Some people out there don't might a night-light...I'm just not one of those people.
Don't hesitate at all buying this product. If your allergies or asthma bother you, don't even look at the price."

"I like that you can choose what kind of mist you want and the tank doesn't empty too quickly. Down side is that we keep it on the floor (no other spot) and the mist is not superfine and does tend to dampen the rug in the front. I've solved that by putting a towel in front of it."

"I have purchased numerous, expensive humidifiers and have been disappointed with all of them. This humidifier is well worth the price - it is fantastic. It is very effective, low maintenance, and has great features. "At first I was delighted with the humidifier. Now I'm mytified (no pun intended). It barely produces any moisture. The booklet says that it MIGHT be because the room is sufficiently humid--but no matter what room I plug the humidifier into, it's the same--a tiny stream of moisture. Can't figure out the problem."

"I am so happy that I came across this website. My question was: Did someone manufacture a humidifier that could deliver both cool and warm mists? Yes! This humidifier is the best product. The temperature mists are not too cold and not too hot. The buttons are easy to grasp and turn. Cleaning is a breeze. I can dry the inside with a towel and a wooden dowel. "Every once in awhile you happen to find the perfect product..... this is it! Love both the looks and features to this humidifier. The options of both warm and cool mist is wonderful. My grandson's allergies are reduced dramatically when he visits and the overall feel to the air is really nice because of the super-fine mist. The unit runs really clean and there are no wet spots or mineral deposits. I run mine for up to 12 hours at a time which is all you really need. Way less expensive to maintain than the filter types. Yes, the control light is bright in the room at night, but I taped a small picture of the ocean over it and that fixed the problem! I plan to buy a second one for use in my yoga studio."

"I have burned through at least 4 of the cheap plastic humidifiers in the last 5 years. I decided to try this costlier one, and it has definitely paid off. It is very quiet and effective at producing a range of humidity levels, cool or warm. It is very easy to use. I don't find that the difference in the cool and warm settings is significant, but is detectable in the room after several hours of use. The blue light is bright enough to be used as a night light - useful when waking often in the night to care for a sick child. I love how well made and elegant in appearance this humidifier is."

"I am very happy with my purchase of the cool and warm mist humidifier. I like the fact that I can choose between the two settings. The tank is an ideal size in that it will run for two to three nights before I have to refill it. Overall it is incredibly easy to use, clean and maintain. My only negative issue with this unit would be with the blazing blue light shining all night long. Other than that, I am very pleased with it. So pleased that I bought a second one!"

"I can confirm other reviewers comments that the stickers do leave a decent amount of residue when removed and the light is quite bright for running at night in a bedroom. That being said it's a great device. It replaced a low-end warm mist humidifier in our bedroom that simply burned itself out, and this one is far superior. The cool mist option starts vapor going instantly, and while there's no automatic humidity detection, the adjustable rate of vapor production is a great feature. With it not running full blast, it can run much longer than 72 hours on one tank. One minor downside we found is the cool mist doesn't absorb instantly into the air, and falls downward after exiting the top of the device. In our climate in the Midwest, the cool mist doesn't absorb into the air by the time it falls the height of the machine, leading to the dresser it was on to get a moist spot in front of the machine. We adjusted it to fire over the edge of the dresser and it does evaporate before it gets to the carpet just fine."

"This device does provide a good cool mist output for a relatively long duration and near-silent operation. The panel lights, as noted by others are quite bright. I taped a piece of lightly tinted gel over them to dim them. I experienced no leaks and only a small amount of brown staining. I tried 2 samples and neither of them seemed to generate any true heat on the "warm" setting. I'd be curious to know just how warm "warm" is. Has there been a batch with defective heaters or switches? Filling the reservoir with hot water was the best I could do for warm mist. Nevertheless, the effect of increased humidity was noticeable and beneficial."

"I received this humidifier as a replacement for an earlier model that was defective. It is nearly silent and is effective for a large bedroom. It shuts itself off and turns on a warning light if the water level drops too low. I run it about 10 hours a night, and it lasts two nights at maximum cool humidity (less on warm)."
