It has chrome-plated, brass-strength fittings and self-sealing threads to prevent leakage. Replacement KDF filter cartridge lasts approximately three months. NSF-certified. USA.

Great filter and flow but leaks after one year Date: January 7, 2010
"We are on our second Shower Falls hand held shower filter. Actually I am online to order our 3rd replacement one. They work great but eventually leak where the pieces screw together. The housing is made of plastic so over time it begins to leak. Ours last approximately one year before they start leaking. However, I love the shower filter. The flow is great, it has several settings, extends the height of the shower head, and the filter is easy to change. We noticed a difference in our skin and hair within a few days. I wish the construction material was metal so it wouldn't leak. Other than the leaking it is a great shower filter."

"The best shower with a filter I've ever had--and I've had several. Various settings give me the clean feeling I want over all parts of my body. Long life filters take the heavy minerals out of the water we have here and my hair and skin are in much better condition. The wand is wonderful for me and I even use it for bathing my two dogs (they seem to like it too because when it is bath time they jump in the shower!)"
