Fantastic
Date: November 11, 2009
"I waited for over a month for Gaiam to get more in stock and my wait was well worth it. Although it has no material to prevent excess movement it is incredible! The scent made when wet is always a delight and leaves the bathroom smelling wonderful. It may seem a little pricey but it is very well worth it."

Best bathroom floor mat yet
Date: November 2, 2009
"I love the scent, quality and unique style of this mat. I use it in my bathroom. I recommend hanging to dry after getting wet like any mat. But this mat doesn't take long to dry which is great! It can be used in any room you want this fresh scent. I will be buying another if this holds up after 3 months."

Great overall

"Love the color; love the smell; perfect size! The good smell wore off in a few days, and it is slippery on my tile floor when stepping out of the shower. But overall, I've never found a better bath mat."

Where is the scent?!
Date: October 30, 2009
"I bought this mat based on the reviews. The size is perfect, the material is nice, the look is very nice in my spa bathroom. BUT where is the scent that everyone has raved about? I smell nothing!! I gave this mat 3 stars based on size, make and looks but stopped there based on scent and cost. I would never of paid $50 on an average bath mat! AND this is just Average. I wonder if the scent escaped due to packaging. The plastic wrapper was ripped open when I got it."

Good quality and design but is price justified?
Date: October 28, 2009
"The product photo on Gaiam's website is taken at an angle that makes the rug seem small but in reality the rug is the size of a typical bath mat (2 ft x 3 ft). The texture is nubby, which I enjoy but I can see how ticklish soles might take convincing to warm up to it. Its texture is far from being sandpaper--more like a flattened loofa. The scent of the rug as I unpacked it was warm and soothing--like dry grass on a summer day. I placed the rug in my bathroom and although the scent diminished after two weeks, it is still evident especially when the bathroom is humid after a shower or bath. Makes my bathroom feel like a spa! The product instructions say to immerse the rug in water from time to time to revive the scent and I have done so twice over the past month. Yes, the scent does revive like new but I find that once the rug is fully dry again, the scent diminishes to what it was before I immersed the rug in water. I do live in a very dry climate (high altitude, about 4000 ft) so the constant dry air here especially now that it is winter could be what is diminishing the scent. The rug is durably constructed and the neutral design will fit most decor. I really, really like the rug but the high price makes it difficult for me to justify buying more. I know the product description says that the artisans who made the rug are fairly paid but Gaiam needs to provide us with more details. Knowing how low the cost of living is in places such as Bali (where the rug is made), I wonder how much of the $50 I paid actually goes to better the lives of these "fairly paid" artisans. So although the rug earns 5 Stars on its own merit, I am deducting 1 star because I am unconvinced that its high price is justified."

Wonderful texture and fragrance!
Date: October 28, 2009
"This is an excellent bath mat! Before I bought the mat, my husband wasn't sure about the price or the texture. He thought the price was high and the texture would be rough on the feet. We've been using the mat for about 3 weeks and last week, my husband exclaimed, "I love this mat!" We both think it feels great on the feet and it continues to provide a wonderful clean and subtle fragrance in the bathroom all day long. It looks great too. And you can feel good about the product's source--sustainable and fair trade. I actually look forward to stepping out of the shower or bath and onto my mat! He and I agree that it is well worth the price."

"It is fragrant, but my husband HATED the smell, so I returned this bath mat. You can smell it from the next room. I also don't think it's very safe, because it slides easily on our tile floor. You could easily slip and fall while steping out of a shower."

"This bath mat smells amazing!!! I love the scent it releases. It is a little "poky" on your bare feet, which I don't mind. And it does slide around on the floor easily."

Makes the bathroom and cats smell great!

A Treat for Your Nose
Date: June 2, 2009
"This vetiver mat is prickly to your bare feet, but is like a massage. The wonderful smell that is released everytime you tread on it is relaxing and grounding, helping with anxiety. It has a nice simple construction and would blend well with any decor. My cats like it too. I've ordered another 2 and am waiting patiently so I can hang them in front of my central AC vents so the wonderful aroma can circulate through my entire apartment. It is not cheap, but once you have used it, you'll discover it is well worth the cost."

Wonderful
Date: March 9, 2009
"This mat smells absolutely wonderful! Our bathroom would sometimes get a minor musty smell in the winter because of closed windows, but with this mat is has a slight Vetiver fragrance all the time. We love it. I also like the looks of it and it feels very nice under bare feet. I have not tried to clean it yet, but have not had the need because of its anti-bacterial qualities."
