"Solid. Solid. Solid. Arrived packaged extremely well. The best quality. It's heavy. It stays where you put it. I have in my steam shower. It's not too big, not too small. Great height. And it looks fantastic. Very comfortable. Perfect. Absolutely perfect."

Beautiful, but a problem for using in a tub
Date: February 27, 2012
"This "stool" is really beautiful and very solid, so solid, unfortunately, it's difficult to heft it into a tub. A further problem, is that my daughter's tub is too small for it to fit in, once it's lifted. But, because it's such a lovely piece of furniture, she's using it for a bedside table instead. Versatility is a virtue!"

Terrible Smell
Date: February 27, 2012
"The bench case arrived wrapped very oddly with no accompanying papers or identification. It took me 20 minutes to extract it from it's mummification, and when I did, it smelled like it had come directly from the tomb. We still haven't used the bench b/c it was banished outside where it is "airing out."
It is much heavier and bigger than you may realize. Seems to be sturdy and well-made."

"I LOVE all of my other products from Gaiam!!! However, this stool was a disappointment! I failed to read the other reviews that it is very unfinished and does not look like the picture (rough). Mine came with a piece broken off and the top was not completely sealed to one leg. It is a very good piece of wood and the design is nice, but the details are way off. Have to spend time and money to make to what I would want. Too expensive to ship back."

Nice white spot!

Rough! If this is a bath stool, I sure would want any nekkid part of me touching this roughness.
"It looked great in the photo and was well-packaged, but was very rough in texture and caught my clothes when I sat on it. It also had a white spot on it that looked like it had been sanded (well, barely, it is really rough!) and never stained. To top it all off, it wobbles! It really seemed half-finished to me."

Sturdy shower seat
Date: January 27, 2012
"I'm very pleased with this product. Overall a little bit bigger and heftier than I thought, but very solidly built and sturdy. Love it in my "spa shower"!"
"The teak bath stool is very good. The width is wide for regular bath, it is 22". Placed sideways, it offers ideal comfort for those needing assistance with showering. It is steady, there is no chance of toppling, sliding, wobbling, which is a great comfort to me. I am glad I purchased it, if ever the need for this is over, it will be reoiled and become a decorative piece. I like it very, very much, thank you."

Teak Bath Stool
Date: September 28, 2011
"This is a beautiful, sturdy, simple and versatile Shinto bench. So lovely that, after I received it and placed it in my bathroom, I ordered another one for my covered front porch."
"This is a great little bench-it's surprisingly comfortable and well-shaped. It's also sturdy and made to last. I bought it for the shower but can imagine other places and uses for it."
"Lovingly handcrafted by fair-trade workers, the teak stool is smooth, the curve as lovely to look at as to sit on. I feel privileged to have this object, made from sustainably-harvested teak, in my life."

You Can't Go Wrong
Date: February 6, 2011
"We are very happy with this stool. It is sturdy and solid, unlike other shower stools we've had. So sturdy, in fact, I feel perfectly safe sitting on it (Other stools I've only used as a place to rest my foot while shaving.). And, even better, it's very nice looking. I felt it was expensive but once it got here, I decided it was well worth the price. I do intend to oil it with teak oil, maybe sanding it first, although I like the feel of the texture of the wood."

"Even though my stool arrived damaged (a corner was broken off of the top) it still was love at first sight. (Who doesn't have imperfections?) The stool is sturdy and warm and the curve of the seat is just right. It was a bit "dry and moldy" at arrival but I wiped it down once and it has truly come to life in the steamy bathroom showing a beautiful depth of color. I smile every time I see it."

mold on leg edges
Date: November 27, 2010
"This bench has appealing style and is sturdy; however, we exchanged ours due to a piece of wood that was splintering off when we received it. We have had our second bench about a year and change, and mold began growing on the bottom edges of the legs in about May. We keep the bench in the shower, but we live in a very dry environment, so this is kind of strange."

"Bench is extremely sturdy, and higher than others, making it perfect sitting height!"
"We were going for a spa type feel in our bathroom and this stool definately fits right in. It is a very sturdy solid piece of furniture. The only reason I didnt give it all 5's is that it is more rustic looking then I was hoping for. Its nothing that a little sanding and teak oil won't fix, but what others have said about its rustic looks is true for the current editions."
