"How do I love this mat? Let me count the ways: 1. It is non-toxic and eco-friendly 2. My favorite color (blue) and gorgeous design 3. I sweat a lot, and I am able to keep much better traction with the rubber mat for some reason. (I still need a microfiber towel for my hands if doing a lot of downward dogs.)"

"I bought 2 of these because I wanted healthier mats for my husband and me, without toxic off-gassing. We do a lot of very deep breathing during yoga. Research told me rubber was the way to go. Even though this mat is rubber, the ink used for the design on it created horrible fumes. I'm wondering how toxic they are! Also, the mat is very, very thin and slippery. All in all, disappointing every which way."

"I bought this mat with very high hopes, as someone with a great deal of sensitivities towards chemicals such as PVC. Unfortunately, as the last reviewer said, it was very, very slippery. Perhaps this is because it was new, or because it is not designed with traction patterning, but I was slipping and sliding. However, Gaiam's excellent customer service was wonderful and took it back right away, no questions asked. Great company, mediocre mat."

Slippery and smelly

"When this product arrived, I tried to air it out for several weeks (as the instructions suggested) to get rid of the rubber, tennis-ball-like smell. When weeks time outside didn't seem to take care of it, I stashed it in my closet for several months, too embarassed to use it in class. I finally used it for the first time in my class tonight, and I was slipping all over the place (not to mention the fact that it somehow *still* smells bad). My down dogs killed my shoulders because I was trying so hard just to stay in place, and my warriors were the worst ever given my unstable footing. I am thoroughly disappointed in this product; I will not be using it again. I appreciate Gaiam and hate to write a bad review, but this product really was a waste of my money."
