This lightweight mat can be folded or rolled into your carry-on so you're ready for yoga wherever you land. The surface is a comfortable and slightly sticky blend of microfiber and natural rubber. Layer over your regular mat for vinyasa or hot yoga practice; absorbs sweat and gives you increased grip. Imported.
"Just what I needed. I needed a yoga mat to take on business trips. This one is just what I needed it is compact and folds small enough for me to carry in my carry on, on the plane. My only small compalint is that the towel side is a little slippery."

Good but not Perfect Solution
Date: October 23, 2009
"The mat is well made, feels nice, is light and foldable and it solved my immediate problem -- having a yoga mat or mat cover to take with me on long-distance trips by air when it isn't practical to carry my everyday yoga mat. I've used this mat only with soft side up, "sticky" side down over a borrowed studio mat. Although the travel mat feels nice on my skin and stays in place pretty well, my hands and feet do slip on it. Spraying with light spray of water helps, but unless it's a super sweaty workout, the mat surface loses moisture and I find myself slipping again, making this a good but not perfect travel mat solution."

Great Product
Date: May 22, 2009
"This mat is exactly as described. It is a (very thin) mat and a towel all in one. But the great thing about it is that the 'towel' part is actually a little bit sticky so you don't slide around on it. It is the perfect travel companion - easy to pack, perfect over carpeted hotel room floors, and a perfect layer over rented mats from yoga studios you visit on your trip! I also use it in my regular practice at home because I just like how it feels."

Perfect Travel Mat!
Date: April 11, 2009
"------- original review ------- This is not a general purpose mat. It is a travel mat. I say this to emphasize its size as an advantage for a specific use. I would not recommend this mat by itself on a wood surface (my knees would not handle it). HOWEVER, that's not why I bought it. In 2008 I traveled 160,000 miles. I do not check luggage often (of the 3 times I did in 2008, I lost my luggage once).
I needed a thin travel mat. The one I had did not fold effectively and took up too much space as a result. I have not traveled with this mat but I have folded it and put it my luggage (takes up a touch more space than an XL cotton t-shirt). I also used it in my regular class on top of my normal mats. It felt great, my hands did not slide forward in down dog. I suspect I can even put this in my front-loading washer (and I'll try that in the future).
I tried in on the carpet in my living room and it seemed fine. I suspect it will work great on the carpet in a hotel room. I travel in 2 weeks to California, it'll be my first travel-based trial with the mat. Looking forward to having a yoga mat that fits in my luggage!-)
Tomorrow I'll be using it in a hot yoga class, so I'll know how it responds to really sweaty hands. I'm pretty sure it will be at least as good as my current mat. ------- Update as of 3/09 ------- I have now taken this travel mat on several trips. It does indeed fold very well. It came with creases and it still has them. However, they are symmetrical, so if you're looking for a way to visually check your foot alignment, that's a plus. Otherwise, the folds do not detract from the usefulness of the mat.
At the end of March 09, I used it at Chicago O'Hare airport in the Admiral's Club (I used on of the shower rooms: http://twitpic.com/2h0b2 - the picture is rated G) with great success. 1 hour of Yoga instead of 1 more hour of waiting for a flight. Also, while I was at ORD for another few hours (got there very early hoping to catch earlier flight, didn't happen), I was totally chilled. It was noisy, busy and people were rushing about. I was just sort of there. Very calm.
I also want to mention that if the mat is wet, it loses its stickiness (top and bottom). I used it in a hot yoga class and then used it the next day and the bottom would not stick to another mat. But that's not really a big deal, I was lazy and didn't let it dry.
And, material like that of Under Armour shirts, does not stick to the light-blue side. Don't know about the dark side, but that's really the only down side.
Finally, I have washed it twice in my front-loading washer and let it air dry and it has had no problems. I've already taken it with me to IL, TX, OH and I use it in my practice when I'm home.
I continue to highly recommend this mat, it really is perfect as a travel mat and I think it is an excellent cover to other mats as well."
