Wondrous Walking Stick!

"This unique functional instrument arrived as a surprise gift on my door from a dear old friend. As a performing flute player, I immediately tried it out and was very pleased to learn that it easily played in tune (key of G) and that I could, with a little creative exploration of fingerings, reach two full octaves. Although the length and range would limit its usefulness in performance, it would certainly be a fun addition to any hike. The walking stick is constructed of sturdy bamboo with a rubber cap securely attached on the bottom (not open-ended). The length is perfect for a comfortable grasp and the color is a naturalistic mottled brown pattern. What a great idea! (Note: Ease in playing would relate to one's experience with or aptitude for flute playing. Also, any notes other than in the regular G scale must be played with half-holes, a technique well known to recorder players.)"
