"This is our second purchase of this compost bucket. It is great. We have a tiny kitchen and I didn't want one to sit on the counter top, this fits nicely under the sink. It is perfect, easy to open one handed, even with my left hand, while my right hand is full of veggi bits. The wide mouth makes it easy to clean once a month. I empty it twice a week if we are cooking at home a lot, but thats all from scratch vegetarian cooking. I really don't know why anyone would spend more on the heavy ceramic model."

"I bought this a few months ago and it works just as described. It sits on my kitchen counter and I haven't noticed any odors. I wish I'd bought the larger size bucket - it does fill up quickly (especially if you're shucking corn)."

We use the small BioBags to line the bucket, and that seems to keep the plastic from absorbing odors further. (BioBags will decompose much more quickly when contents are damp and/or liquid accumulates at the bottom, such as with coffee grounds, tea bags, etc.)"
