"I love the lantern, the construction and the quality of the material. I'd give it 5 stars, but the placement of the solar panel makes charging it quite difficult. I first hung it from a low branch of a plant on my porch. The FLAT top of the lamp got full sun all day. Stayed lit like a champ in the evening. Looks like a full moon! However, hanging it from just about anywhere that impedes direct sunlight hitting the flat top affects the charge and in turn the amount and time you get light. It would be GREAT if one could pivot the collector, so it gets more direct sunlight. I'd even prefer if the collector was on the side, even though it would look bad. We have a TON of sun here, so if it doesn't work well here, where will it work?? Can;t hang from eave, as this shades, so your only option seems to be hang it from a not too leafy, low lying plant or tree."

Beautiful lights... when they stay light Date: February 4, 2009
"I recently bought a set for my backyard. They're a beautiful addition however they do not hold a charge for very long. My hope was they would charge enough during the day and last well into the night. My experience thus far has been they remain lit for roughly 2hrs after sunset before fading."

"I am a huge fan of solar outdoor lights, unfortunately these look better when not illuminated. What they call a yellow light on here is not remotely close, it's a very dark burnt orange light.

And the instructions that come in the box to get the panel going were not correct so you have to keep playing with the settings to get them to work.

They would be better off using just a standard white LED light or at least offered it in different colors.

Other then that the quality of the construction seems to be okay, but I haven't tested out the light to know how long it lasts."
