"I purchased this DVD about 3 months ago and I have to say I am very, very impressed with it. Before I bought it, I was not only a beginner to pilates, but a beginner to working out. However, the routines presented make pilates possible even for someone as inexperienced as me. Following the student, Tara, has allowed me to increase my core strength and I can feel the positive impact it has had on my body.
Ana Caban's style makes it as fun and easy as it can be. She is energetic and explains herself well, without being over-the-top "peppy". It's true that there is a lot of talking throughout the Beginning Mat Workout, and it can be somewhat frustrating when you just want to get to the next exercise. Overall, though, it's not enough to stop me from recommending this DVD and giving it a superb rating.
In my opinion, this is definitely worth the money."

Challenging and Fun Workout for Beginners

"Ana Caban is my favorite Gaiam instructor and this DVD shows why! She makes the work out fun, never boring, and her perfect form and figure give the viewer something to aspire to. The DVD offers many variations to positions to account for varying levels of fitness, flexibility and stamina. Your goal is to eventually follow Ana instead of her helper Tara. The included interview with Ana is fascinating and very inspiring. Be sure to watch it. Ana quotes Joseph Pilates: In 10 work outs you'll feel better, in 20 you'll look better, in 30 you'll have a completely new body. I'm on my way to seeing if they are right!"
