Happy with this mat

"This mat has been a good purchase for me. I do a combination Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi class and this mat has the cushioning and the stickiness that I need/like. Once I place my feet and/or hands on this mat, they do not move/slide even when I am sweaty and the mat does not move around or bunch/wrinkle on the floor at all. The mat seems like it is well made and is going to last a long time even though I use it every single day. This mat is heavier and doesn't roll up as small as thinner ones, but this doesn't bother me at all. I use a strap, not a bag, to carry my mat back and forth to the gym. There was a strong smell in the beginning, but it is mostly gone now and I think it will continue to dissipate as time goes by. It was also pretty stiff in the beginning making it a little hard to roll, but again, it is gradually getting less stiff and is getting easier to roll tighter."

Excellent Yoga Mat

"Yes it had a little rubber odor but I let it air out
for a couple of days. Hint: I place Lavender dryer
sheets (unused) in my Yoga bag and this helps make everything, even the bag smell better. This mat has excellent grip, very stationary and repells sweat very well. It does weigh a little more than regular mats. I give it an excellent rating; it has improved Yoga Style."

"Yes, it did smell when I first got it. I opened it up in the middle of my room for a week, and by the end of that time the smell was gone. Now, if I stick my nose right up to it there is only a faint smell of rubber--and as that's natural, it doesn't bother me!

The mat is SUPER comfortable. I love practicing on something the color of the earth, and made with earth-friendly means. :)"

Pretty good mat

"I've tried a lot of cheesy, slippery mats. This one is well made and very sticky. I agree with the other reviewer. When I received it, it smelled ... sort of like it had been made in a tobacco curing warehouse. After using it for a month or so, it's much better now. It's a good mat and gets a lot of compliments."

Choose another mat

"Mat is heavy, stiff and cumbersome to roll and it smells worse than PVC! I've had this mat for months and it still smells up my entire closet. It almost makes me nauseous during practice. If you are looking for an environmentally friendly mat, choose another PVC-free alternative. The thickness is great however and it is comfortable."
