Poorly Made Chair Date: April 2, 2009
"Everyone in my family finds this chair both uncomfortable and far too short for any desk or table in the house. Cheap, plastic base makes it a bit of an eyesore as well. The shipping is pricey, so it's not really worthwhile to return this item."

"I bought my chair off of ebay and I have never been so comfortable at work.
I have recommended this to EVERYONE!

I have a serious lower back problem and since getting my Balance Ball Chair I am not having the pain I did at work with an office chair!
If you hurt...get this, you'll love it!!!

Best chair ever! Date: March 30, 2009
"When my husband bought this for me as a gift 4 years ago, I was very curious. I work from home in front of a computer all day and I was looking for a good chair. At that time, I was sitting on a big ball and it was good, but I was still not loving it. I can gladly say I LOVE this chair and it's the best I've used! It doesn't look like much, I mean, it's mainly plastic, so don't expect it to be stylish. But it sure is comfortable. And I believe it truly helps me keep good posture. I used to also have back aches, but rarely get them. I don't know how they did it, but it certainly keeps me upright and comfortable. Everyone who comes to our house is curious and after trying it, they are impressed!"

Most Comfortable Chair Ever! Date: March 28, 2009
"I am an office manager and spend most of my 8+ hours at my desk, so I really apprecicate a comfortable chair that allows me to move and reach all areas on my desk. I like to sit up straight, so sitting on top of the ball is easy. When I move the seat provides a little "bounce and lift" rather than the hard surface of my old padded office chair. The back you see in the picture is only used when the wheels are locked and you are exercising, you do not lean back against it. I bought one for my daughter to use I think it is so great."

This chair is great! Date: March 22, 2009
"I have a herniated disc in my lower back and have gone through quite a few office chairs trying to find one that let me sit for extended periods of time without pain. I sat on a yoga ball (without the chair) at someone's house and decided to try this chair. I have had it now for about five months and absolutely love it! It has strengthened my core muscles, keeps me from getting restless over extended periods, and I have no pain from sitting any more! I'm going to order a spare ball so if something happens to the original I won't have to do without my chair for even an hour!"

love this chair, just bought a second! Date: March 21, 2009
"I love love love this chair! I've tried a Freedom chair ($800), a swopper chair ($500), and various other kinds of chairs, and this ball chair is the only one that keeps my neck, shoulders and back happy. Now that I've got a new job, I need a second one to take in to the office so the one I've had for a year can stay here at home.
If you find the ball a bit chilly, try putting a thin seat cushion on top (mine is only a quarter inch, but adds just enough insulation).
If you find the ball too low, perhaps it's because desk surfaces are much too high! Try a keyboard tray and/or having the surface of the desk lowered (if it's hung from a cubicle wall, for instance), so the monitor is lower too.

Please, Gaiam, do not change out this ball with a different sized one! One of the things that makes this chair perfect is that my feet rest right on the floor with my knees and hips both at the correct angle (90 degrees). Trying to accommodate a too-high desk by just using a too-high chair with a foot rest caused my neck and back all kinds of problems that were solved by finally getting into a neutral position, all thanks to this chair.

Not indestructible; not eco-friendly Date: February 13, 2009
"My husband loved it--except it was too short. And then my cat decided she wanted to claw the seat. Poof! Bye-bye "indestructible" balance ball! Now I have the seat, no ball and what am I to do with it? It's NOT made of recyclable plastic! More junk for the landfill. WHY did I buy this?"

wheel locks Date: November 29, 2008
"Dayona, I have the same problem with the wheels locking, because I tend to sit with my feet towards the back and hit the locks. The only solution I found was to try to remember to keep my feet in front. Also, that ball can be a bit cold on the rear, but I usually put a towel or something on it."

somewhat disappointed Date: November 26, 2008
"I was disappointed with the chair when i got it. the ball that comes with it is not the size pictured, it is much smaller. the chair is too low to use with any average desk using the ball provided. I am going to run out and purchase another (larger) ball and hope that it works. If not, I will have to return the chair."

Response from Gaiam: By Gaiam Customer Service, November 26, 2008
Thank you for your feedback. The ball for the chair is specially sized for the chair frame. If it seems too small, it may not be fully inflated.
If you are still experiencing problems, please contact us by email at customerservice@gaiam.com or by phone at 1-877-989-6321. We will be happy to arrange a replacement for you.

Glad I have it Date: November 25, 2008
"This was recommended to me by my chiro. I like and need the support this ballchair gives me.
The only drawback is the brakes. The brake pedals lock up frequently. I use this at my office and I can't rectify this or prevent it from happening.
If there is a fix, I would love this chair
